Visit Us
Our visiting hours are 11am - 8pm. This allows patients to rest
and recover outside this time. Please discuss any visiting
requirements outside these hours with a charge nurse.
All visitors are asked to please check in with reception on the
ward before going to the patient's room. This is so we can ensure
the nursing team has finished any care or treatment required.
Children are welcome to visit but must be supervised at all
times due to the health and safety hazards within the hospital. We
recommend that visits are for a short period of time for any
children under the age of five.
Visitors are welcome to dine with patients by arrangement.
Please discuss ordering a visitor's meal with a registered
nurse or the healthcare assistant. There is a moderate charge for
visitors' meals.
Visitors to Mercy Hospital
If you are visiting a patient who is sharing a room, we
ask that you respect the privacy of all people in the room.
Due to the specialised care required by patients in the
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and High Dependency Unit (HDU) children
under the age of 12 are not permitted to visit without prior
approval from the ICU charge nurse.
Only two visitors at any one time are permitted to
see patients in the Cardiac Ward, Intensive Care Unit or High
Dependency Unit.
