Ko Te Wiki o te Reo Māori - Māori Language Week
This week we celebrate Māori Language Week, commemorating the presentation of the Māori Language Petition to parliament on 14 September 1972. It has been marked every year since 1975. The theme for this year’s Te Wiki is ‘Ake ake ake – A Forever Language’, representing the resilience, adaptability and endurance of te reo Māori. It also reflects our commitment to embrace and learn te reo Māori long into the future.
At MercyAscot, we support the use of te reo at all times. By engaging in learning new words and phrases, we are positively embracing te reo Māori at MercyAscot.
Join us this Māori Language Week to uplift te reo Māori. If you are going to visit us during this week, you are warmly invited to celebrate te reo with us. Ka kite anō.
